About Me

Hello!  My name is Theodore Edward Naylor - otherwise known as Teddy Eddy.  I was born on June 5, 2005.  After eight weeks with my cuddly mom and brothers and sisters, I was suddenly taken away to a strange place with lots of other puppies.  Life was lonesome for a few days, but one day, I looked up into the eyes of a young girl and her father.  "Please," I wanted to say.  "Please pick me. I want to go home with you and be your very own puppy."  When they walked out of the door, my heart was broken.  Other people were looking at me but they didn't seem nearly as nice as that  girl with the dark blond hair.  Then, all of a sudden I saw her again, and her father was making a thumbs up sign to the seller.  They wanted me after all!!!  I was so happy.  Now I could be with this wonderful girl, whose name,I heard, was Bethany.  She cuddled with me in her lap all the way home and I felt so much peace.

Of course, I did miss my first mom and brothers and sisters for awhile.  This new family made me sleep in the basement all alone and I was very lonely and sad.  They put on some kind of music to calm me down but that only made me miss my Mom even more.  Then something wonderful happened!  Bethany's Mom decided that I could sleep with her in her bed.  Oh, that was WONDERFUL!  So warm, and safe and peaceful.  After that I realized I had a new Mom and a new sister.  It took me awhile to realize that I also had a new Dad.  He didn't know what to think of me in the beginning, but eventually I won his heart also.  He is the best ear scratcher in the whole world!

Since then, I have been really happy.  I run around the house a lot, following my Mom.  I love to roughhouse with my sister who gets down on the ground and plays with me.  We have a lovely backyard with lots of squirrels to chase.  And I have made the most amazing discovery.  I have learned that my owners are trainable!  I just trained them to give me a treat whenever I do my business among the bushes in our yard (and not on the grass). It works almost all the time!  I have also trained them to give me a treat whenever they say, "Come."  All I have to do is go to them and the treat is given.  What a life!

I take turns sleeping with my Mom and my sister.  They are both special in different ways.  My Mom  is warm and cuddly, and my sister has special skin that I like to lick.  My dad doesn't really like to sleep with me, but that's O.K.  He gives me 'earjobs' when I wake up.

I also have a grandma and grandpa who take me with them for a few days every once in awhile.  I really like them.  They take me on lots of walks and I don't even have to be on a leash!  They feed me organic health-food which is O.K.  I just hope they don't start making me take 20 pills a day like they do!

The only think I don't like about my life is when I have to go to the vet, when they try to brush my fur, or when i have to go to the kennel to be groomed.   I get so scared that I will be taken away from my wonderful family.  But so far, so good.  They have left me only for short periods of time and always come back to me.  Isn't that wonderful!

I am now 3 people years old and 21 dog years.  From now on I will be able to drink and to drive and to vote (not in that order).  OOPS!  I guess not.  I guess that's just for humans.  Oh, well, I really wouldn't have known who to vote for anyway.  I guess  a dog's place is in the home.

If you have any questions about my exciting life, please email me and I will happy to respond as soon as I can.  Ta-ta for now!
